About My Practice

Watching your child or teen struggle emotionally can be heartbreaking, but you don’t have to face this alone. As a board certified psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) I work with children, teens and young adults using a strengths-based approach to support and empower my patients and their parents with knowledge and tools to thrive. Together, we can navigate the complexities of mental health and build a brighter future for your family.

My Approach to Treatment

Every person is unique, so is their path to wellness. I offer personalized treatment plans that consider the whole child, not just their symptoms. We'll look at how the mind, body and environment impact your child’s mental health and work together addressing the root causes of the emotional or behavioral struggles. I utilize a big toolbox to promote long-term well-being and resilience, including supportive therapy, medication management, whole-body supports and strengths-based coaching.

What You Can Expect From Our First Session

My approach is rooted in empathy, creativity, evidence based practice and strong collaboration with my patients and their parent(s). I start with a comprehensive evaluation to understand my client's unique challenges, needs and strengths. Then we work together to create a personalized treatment plan that may include brief supportive therapy, medication management, and wellness coaching. By also working together with your child's teachers, and other healthcare providers, we can create a comprehensive support system that addresses all aspects of your child’s life. If you’re looking for a compassionate, experienced partner in your child’s mental health journey, I invite you to reach out. Let’s work together to create a path to healing and hope.

The Importance of Patient Education

I strongly believe that patient education is an important part of the services I provide. In addition to talking with patients during exams and throughout the course of treatment regimens, I have provided extensive information on the conditions, treatments and procedures relating to Psychiatry.

This clinical information has been written with you -- the patient -- in mind and includes graphical illustrations and photographs. It can be printed in an easy-to-read layout on your home printer. I encourage patients to read about conditions and treatments that affect them and I eagerly invite you to ask questions. Thank you for choosing me to be your health care provider.
